WASH project completed in Nasalia, Kadavu

Caritas Fiji has successfully completed another WASH project — this time in Nasalia, Kadavu.
With the generous support of our Donor Partners Caritas Australia, Caritas Fiji was able to upgrade and restore the village’s aging ferrocement water tank and water infrastructure, which had long needed care. What was once a crumbling structure is now fully functional — renewed with a full facelift and made ready to serve the families who depend on it daily.
To protect the health of the community, our team also fenced the water catchment area, ensuring the water remains safe and clean for drinking, cooking, and everyday life. Work was done together with Water Authority of Fiji, to make sure everything meets their proper standards.
While working in Nasalia, our team discovered an idle 10,000L tank beside the ferrocement structure. After carefully servicing it and installing the proper fittings, we were grateful to pass and install it on to the neighbouring village of Burelevu — extending the impact of this project even further.
We extend our heartfelt thanks to St Peter Chanel Parish for their strong support and collaboration throughout the project. To the villagers of Nasalia and Burelevu, vinaka vakalevu for welcoming our team with warmth and generosity. Your kindness made our work not only possible, but joyful.
Water is more than a basic need — it’s a source of dignity, health, and hope. Caritas Fiji remains committed to walking alongside communities to ensure that no one is left behind.
Together, we’re restoring lives — one tank, one village, one drop at a time.
