Saint Vincent Youth Rally 2025

St John the Apostle Parish

ST VINCENT PARISHES YOUTH CONSULTATION:

In 2024 and 2025, the Congregation of the Mission around the world is celebrating the
400th anniversary of its founding by St. Vincent de Paul in 1625 Paris. This community of Catholic priests and brothers, which started with St. Vincent and a small number of
priests and brothers, now operates in 95 countries with more than 3,000 members.

Youths from Vincentian Parishes around the Archdiocese of Suva gathered at St John the Apostle Parish, Natovi.

A total of 276 youths from Kadavu Island, Catholic Youths between the Nausori – Ra corridor. Though the youth rally was for catholic youths only, some of these youth specifically from village settings invited peers from other religious denomination (methodist & Pentecostal churches). A great revelation that religious differences is no longer a barrier. In addition, health screening services conducted on site. Cancer screening, HIV testing, PAP Smear, Blood and Sugar screening too.

The rally began on the 6th through to the 10th of May 2025 at Saint Vincent School in
Natovi. Caritas Fiji funded protocol engagement, stationeries, refreshment, frozen food
and partial travel allowance for the youth groups, due to the strategic plan in prioritizing
support to young people. Moreover, the theme ‘Putting on the Spirit of Christ’ is the
theory of change! Jesus Christ the son of Mary is the standard character youths can
imitate for sustainable livelihood and spiritual toughness.
